Edges in Eternity
Edges in Eternity is a contemporary forum to discus our sense of boundaries and place. These global paintings draw upon atmospheric weather patterns and personal commentary from those individuals whose lives are involved in the science of governmental planning and ethical reflection on community. The participants assist by defining critical concepts through their shared experience. This work reexamines the confrontation with the sublime in nature. The paintings are meant to set a complex emotional foundation to engage our actions individually and corporately as stewards of the earth.
Presenting images of Katrina from this series, Dresser wishes to thank Thomas Hodson, JD., Ph.D. who is Chief of the Plan Formation Branch for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District who forwarded them during the research. The natural world is now evidencing the climate change effecting whole populations. The power to mobilize, the call for redemption, the ability to transform can also give shape to destruction and dislocation. This artwork envisions the terrorizing tenderness of such forces which may allow us to confront our limits.
Dresser remains committed to painting the awaking moment of consciousness. The orientation of the conscience self in the realm of limitless possibilities has been addressed through writings in religion and philosophy. This work is a clarion call to fully engage.
