Gustavo Ureņa - Artist Statement
Street Collage focuses on the interaction of our urban environment and self-promotion stickers as an art form. The beauty of street collage is the blind collaboration of many artists from different fields that are using street signs as a form of advertisement, using signs as art canvas. Gustavo Ureņa look beyond the stack of label, stickers and handmade signs that often clutter New Yorkʼs City parking street signs and fi nd new meaning in their complex composition. Gustavo Ureņa - Bio
Gustavo Ureņa was born in Santo Domingo de Guzman on October 26th,1980. At the age of 15, his parents moved to New York City where he started his education in art and design.
